Family Support Group

Life Beyond Bars (LBB) is committed to supporting families whose loved one is involved with the justice or corrections system.  The support group will not only support families during incarceration, but we will help families prepare for a loved one’s return home and back into society.   It is our desire for the support group participants to educate each other and be a beacon of hope.

 

LBB understands your loved one is not the only one serving a sentence. Each family member connected to that individual is serving the sentence with them.  It is very hard to put into words the disappointment, concern, fear and worry you experience daily.  Learning to live with your new reality can be stressful and the impact causes mental, physical and emotional instability.  Our support group is here to help you get through this difficult time. We want to help you find a sense of balance while you’re supporting your loved one. Together we will encourage you to live a stable and productive Life Beyond Bars.

 

LBB group sessions are a safe haven for families to express how they feel openly and honestly. We will suggest different methods to cope with your feelings of losing a loved one to the system.  LBB will also use our resources and referral process to help families obtain outside services.

• Weekly intimate group sessions in person

• Scheduled individual one on one discussions via:

  • Phone

  • Facetime
